NEW! Squadron Boating

This boating safety class is offered by the Illinois Valley Power Squadron.  It will cover basic types of boats, terms, power systems, operator responsibilities, boat handling, equipment, navigation lights, boat registration rules, aids to navigation, trailering, marine radio and more; all provided in a classroom setting.  Family situations can get by with one set of material.  Passing an exam provides a certificate. 

        Register by: 2/11 or 4/21 respectively

Dining Etiquette and First Impressions

This seminar will help instill the confidence, poise and increased self-esteem that come with the knowledge and practice of good manners.  Some topics that will be covered include posture, introductions, voice & grammar, and table manners. Basketball for Youth

Learn and practice the basic skills of basketball and play a game each class.  Taught by an experienced youth basketball instructor, lessons emphasize individual skill development, shooting ability and game play.  Suitable for beginners and intermediate players.  During games, players are matched by height and ability.  Bring your own basketball for skill instruction and shooting practice.  A limited number of basketballs will be available at class.

Magic I

Led by a professional magician, you’ll learn how to perform a variety of magic with playing cards, money, rope, and other common items. You’ll learn effects such as Cups and Balls, Hot Rod and Magic Paddles, Mind reading effects, Cut and Restored Rope, and many others. Soon you’ll be amazing your friends and family!  All supplies to make your own magic kit and a magic handbook are included.  As a special bonus, students will receive a DVD of the class material.
