Theatre Education for Children (TEC)
For 55 years the Peoria Park District has offered Theatre Education for children (TEC) classes to interested students in District 150, 325, Dunlap and private schools. Teachers meet with students at the school weekly and work on basic acting skills and techniques and produce a short play to be presented at their school. The program culminates with the Annual Drama Festival on Saturday, May 5. If you are interested in teaching, or starting a program at your school, contact Linda Elegant Huff at 681-2861.
Creative Movement: Ages 5-12
We’ve combined the best of both drama and dance into this new class. Experience choreography, story drama, improvisational and character movement and self expression. Stars 1/24.
Auditioning for Musical Theatre
All the skills you need to know to improve your next audition can be learned in this class which will cover choosing and preparing your monologue, choosing the right song, rehearsing your song, and much more including ‘tips’ to help you succeed. Students are resposible for their own CD with instrumental music on it. Starts 1/26
