Fitness Walks

50 Rock Walks America

Join us for the new 50 Rock Walks America program! Every step counts when you’re walking your way across the USA. Using your 50 Rock provided pedometer, each member logs their daily steps in our online program (or we can log them for you) on our virtual hike from city to city. You can walk and exercise on your own or join one of our many fun-filled 50 Rock activities to gather those miles.

We will count the cumulative group steps and as we reach a new destination, we will celebrate our accomplishment with a catered dinner at the beautiful Gateway Building on the RiverFront. There will also be a presentation on the landmarks, culture and fun these beautiful cities have to offer. $25 registration fee covers your membership for 2013 and includes your pedometer and T-shirt. Come to our kick off celebration to receive your pedometer and T-shirt. Optional celebration dinners are additional.

Simple dance moves with walking for cardio, exercise bands and light weights for toning, strength and core with music from around the world, for maximum fun. Can be done from a chair or standing. Instructor: Peggy Shadid

Hoop Fitness

Work that core and have great fun while doing it! Hoop Fitness is all the rage for all ages. Whittle your waist and strengthen and tone your legs and arms. Loaner hoops available or bring your own. Tuesdays at Franciscan Rec Complex

Yogaerobics

Fun, low-impact, yoga-based moves, incorporating the use of light hand-weights, and aerobic movement to increase calorie burn. Improves flexibility, builds lean muscle and encourages weight loss. Tai Chi - Traditional Yang Style Long Form

Focus is on strengthening the inner foundation of physical and mental energies. Movement of the muscles creates a gentle flow of energy, trains logical thinking and calms the nerves while energizing the body.
