(William H.) Sommer Park encompasses 320 acres of rolling meadows, prairies, farmland and open woodlands. It is a use-by-reservation facility that offers private picnics and outings for groups of up to 1000, April through November.
However, this secluded park also offers a variety of public events throughout the year - see the Special Events link in the left column for details. Sommer Park also offers educational programs in historical interpretation or outdoor education, team building programs on their Teams Course, and a summer day camp for children aged 6-15.
This is the ideal setting for your group’s outing whether it’s a wedding, company picnic or family reunion. From volleyball and horseshoes to canoeing and hiking, we’ll help design an outing just for you. Groups may obtain permission to supply their own beer and wine.
