ICC Adult Community Programs at FPNC
These non-credit programs are offered through ICC, but meet at Forest Park Nature Center. Unless otherwise stated, all programs are designed for adults18 and over. The cost per person is $12. Pre-registration is required through ICC by calling (309) 690-5900 or online at www.icc.edu/acp or in person at Hickory Hall, ICC North Campus. A letter confirmation will be mailed prior to your workshop.

Weather Basics
Saturday, 2/23 • 10-11:30 am • Instructor: Dean Johnston • Join us for this workshop and gain a new appreciation for the clouds over your head! Illinois weather can be subtle or sublime, but it is always interesting. This class will cover the basic ingredients of weather, how weather is measured and how it is forecast. Learn about some of Illinois’ most awe-inspiring weather events. In addition, the class will include some information on global climate change. Information on how to get started in amateur meteorology, both as a hobby and as a public service, will also be included.
Prairie Garden Workshop
Saturday, 4/13 • 10 am-12 pm • Instructor: Kristi Shoemaker • Participants will learn the basics of starting their own native prairie garden at home. We will discuss the benefits of native landscaping, how to propagate prairie plants and planning your garden to work with your site. Participants will then get to take home a prairie plant to start their own garden!
