Got a Little Time on Your Hands? The Garden Wants You!
Luthy Botanical Garden has a volunteer position for everyone who has the time! Horticulture volunteers are out in the Garden every day gettin' dirty and havin' fun alongside our staff. But wait! We can still use your talents, even if you want to preserve your manicure! We have volunteer opportunities in education, special event coordination, the Trellis Gift Shop and as an office assistant. We offer weekend hours and daytime shifts, so if you're interested in volunteering for a special event or on a regular basis, call the Volunteer Coordinator at 686-3362, ext. 202.

Garden Services
"What a Beautiful Garden..."  Luthy's Landscape Consultation Service
Are your friends and neighbors envious of your garden – or are your "ornamentals" flowering weeds? The truth is everyone wants a beautiful garden, and with a little knowledge yours can be breathtaking! Let the Horticultural consultants at Luthy Botanical Garden visit your home or office for expert advice on problem areas. You’ll gain insight into your own landscape design and learn the proper techniques for fertilizing, pruning, and controlling pests. Call for an appointment today! For just $40/hour ($50/hour for non-residents) you’ll discover how beautiful your garden can be.

Commemorative Rose Bush
Are you looking for a unique way to commemorate a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion? Momentous events deserve a distinctive memento to mark the occasion. For a $30 donation you can honor a special person or event with a rose bush planted in our Rose Garden. You will receive a certificate telling the type, color and location of your rose bush. Over the years it will serve as a blooming reminder of your loved one or special event.

Horticulture Presentations: Know Plants, Will Travel
Our professional Horticulturists are available to present a wide variety of plant- and gardening- related talks and demonstrations to your community group, garden club, or special-interest society. We would also love to show you around the Garden and let you get to know it personally with a private tour. Prices start as low as $40 on-site; call 686-3362 for details.

Educational Programs
Educators! Have you heard about Luthy school programs? We have some very exciting educational opportunities that could work in your classroom. There are programs concerning the rainforest, terrariums, and deserts, just to name a few, as well as tours of our grounds and greenhouses. We can also work with you to create brand-new programming to meet your specific needs or interests. All of our programs may be presented here at the Garden or in your classroom, and all fulfill various Illinois State Standards for Education. These classes make a great addition to your curriculum! Home-school groups, scout troops and community groups are always welcome as well. Call 686-3362, ext. 202, for details including scheduling and pricing information.

Photography Permits
After extensive research of botanical gardens across the United States, it was determined that the Garden should develop and maintain a photography procedure and permitting process. Since January 2004, professional photographers have been required to obtain a permit for any and all photo sessions, indoors or out. The permit fee of $25/hour or $250/year is due and payable upon receipt of permit. We have instituted this procedure to keep the Garden beautiful for all visitors and to assure photographers the best service possible. If you have any questions or would like a copy of the Garden's photography procedure, call Valerie at 686-3362.
