Methodist Encore! Classes
Registration for the Methodist Encore! programs is being handled by the Peoria Park District. You may register at the Peoria Park District Office at 2218 N. Prospect Road, the Franciscan Recreation Center at 908 Sterling Ave, West Peoria, or you may register at your first class. Online registration is currently not available for these classes.

New Classes for 50+ Adults!
New Health & Wellness Classes at Methodist North!
The Peoria Park District is excited to announce a new collaboration with Methodist Encore! Together we’re offering some of the best exercise/fitness classes and instructors, at the lowest cost, to help you BE WELL! These classes are held at our beautiful Methodist North at Allen Road facility, and you may attend a class once FREE before committing to it on a long-term basis.
Yoga for Mature Adults
Join in an ancient practice that concentrates on harmonizing the mind, body and spirit! The focus is on increased flexibility, energy and balance.
Mon. & Wed., January 4-Jan 30, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Instructor: Lily Heubner
Location: Methodist North at Allen Road, Conference Room A
Fee: $24 for 8 class sessions
Fun & Fit Over 50
A wonderful low-impact cardio class for men and women age 50 and older. This class incorporates strengthening, toning, stretching and resistance exercises with bands, balls and weights.
Tues. & Thurs., 3:00 – 4:00 pm, classes start Nov. 8 and are ongoing

Fee: 13-visit punch card for $27.50
Tai Chi for Mind/Body/Spirit
This class incorporates stretching and turning within a sequence of movements that improve the health of the body, mind and spirit. Can reduce tension, improve circulation and balance, and increase strength and flexibility.

*This schedule is for the pickleball court at the Methodist North facility on N. Allen
Road (and Rt. 6).
- Pickleball will be available for 10 visits for $20 with the purchase of a punch
card. Punch cards can be purchased at the Peoria Park District administration
office at 2218 N. Prospect Road or at Franciscan Recreation Center, 908 Sterling
Avenue, West Peoria.
- Pickleball players should call 688-3667 to schedule times to play or to get
information on partners. New players needing an experienced partner can call
688-3667 to request a partner.
- There is a limit of 6 players scheduled for any 2 hour session.
- Pickleballs and some paddles are available for use by players at the Methodist
Facility only.

"Seasoned Stars on Stage Reader’s Theatre"
Ever wanted to act on stage? Join “Seasoned Stars on Stage Reader’s Theatre” for men and women age 50+! Director Pamela White creates an entertaining learning and performing experience. This is a Reader’s Theatre, and no memorization is required.
Tues. & Thurs., 5:30-7:30 pm,

Fee: There is a $10 one-time registration fee.
Peoria Park District/Methodist Encore! Book Discussion Group
Read a great book and discuss it with friends over refreshments on the first Monday of each month. Nov. 7, Dec. 5, Jan. 2, 5:30-7:00 p.m.

Fee: There is a $5 one-time registration fee.
Mah Jong
Mah Jong is a fun and challenging table game with four players per table. It teaches skill, strategy and calculation. Exercise your mental muscles and enjoy some fun with friends as you learn to play this very old, very popular game that originated in China. New and experienced players welcome.
Mondays, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. or Wednesdays, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. beginning Jan 4, 2012
