Adult Slow-Pitch Softball
Get into the swing of things with this 14-game season starting 4/26. Leagues are offered Sunday through Friday eventings. Games will be played at Peoria Stadium. Registration packets will be available 1/15 at the Recreation Office in Glen Oak Park Pavillion. Packets will be mailed to teams who played last summer. You may also download information packets and necessary forms. Registration begins 2/15 and continues until leagues fill.

"Short Season" Slow-Pitch Softball
Want to play softball but can't commit for a full season? Try this new league that offers a shorter, 7-game season that runs 4/26-6/13. Games will be played Friday and Sunday evenings. Download the same information packets and necessary forms using the links in the regular softball paragraph above.

Co-Rec Drop In Softball for Seniors
Men and women 55 and older can drop in on Tuesdays & Fridays at 8:30 am at the Peoria Stadium. The season runs mid-May through October. The league uses modified rules to encourage participation. A nominal fee is charged. For details call David Dowell: 673-1119.
Peoria Girls Softball League
For ages 6-17

The softball program will run 5/16-7/18 for all four divisions. Girls will play infield and outfield positions and bat throughout the entire game. Grades listed below are for grades completed as of July, 2009. First time players are welcome in all divisions!
Registration forms are available at the Recreation Offices in Glen Oak Park or by contacting Tom Mayer at 692-2537. Deadline for preregistration is May 2; walk-ins will be accepted at evaluations held on May 9 or 10. NOTE: Registrations are NOT taken at the Park District.
Games and practices will be held three days a week at Peoria Stadium, Washington Middle and Hines Grade School diamonds on Saturday mornings and Monday-Thursday after 4:30 pm.
Rookie Division: Grades 1-3
The primary focus is to learn the rules and fundamentals of girls softball. The ball is pitched to players by an adult.
Beginning Fast Pitch: Grades 4-5
Players are introduced to hitting and pitching fast pitch softball. Fundamentals are reinforced.
Advanced Fast Pitch: Grades 6 & 7 OR
High School: Grades 8-12
These divisions are for older players to learn techniques such as bunting and stealing.
