School Groups

All classroom and tour reservations must be made in advance through the Education Department, minimum of 15 participants. Either can be tailored to your group. Ed-Zoo-cational adventures and Backstage Passes help fulfill State Standards. For more information, call (309) 686-3365, ext. 213.

Zoo Snooze

A Zoo Snooze lets those ages five and up fall asleep listening to the barking sea lions and wake to the laughing kookaburra. Your overnight adventure begins at 7 p.m. with a nocturnal tour of the Zoo, a light snack of pizza and punch, and a peek behind the scenes. We finish in the morning with a light breakfast at 9 a.m., and then you are free to enjoy the Zoo for the rest of the day. Dates are flexible; registration is required at least two weeks in advance. One chaperone is required for every five students. The cost is $30/person (minimum 20).

Ed-Zoo-Cational Adventures

Ed-Zoo-Cational Adventures allow your group to choose from a variety of topics: from Scales, Feathers and Fur to Amazing Animal Adaptations. We've got something for everyone! School groups pay just $1/participant; other groups pay $4.75/child and $6.25/adult.

Tours at the Zoo

All guided tour reservations must be made in advance through the Education Department. Tours can be tailored to your group. For more information, call (309) 686-3365, extension 213.

Guided Tour
Your group can discover the wild world of the Peoria Zoo with an educator who will work with you to make sure the tour meets the needs of your group. Tour includes an indoor program where guest can meet some of our education animals "up close and personal" followed by a guided tour of the zoo. Tour lasts approximately 90 minutes; however, shorter tours can be arranged.
Fee: $6.50/adult, $5.00/child (under 13 years) Special pricing for school groups.

Behind the Scenes Tour
This tour takes you backstage at the Zoo, into areas that are normally closed to the public. Get answers to questions like "Where to the sea lions sleep?" or "What types of food do the animals eat?" Cost is $5.50/child and $7/adult. (Minimum: 15)

Zoomobiles

Bring the Zoo to you! With just a phone call, our animal ambassadors can visit your school or facility. Using biofacts, activities and up-close animal encounters, we bring the outside world inside to you. Choose from a variety of programs designed for all age groups to help fulfill State Standards. Costs start at $80 for residents and $130 for non-residents. Prices are adjusted for travel outside of Peoria and number of participants.
