  • 47th Annual Turkey Trot - “The Oldest Race in the Peoria Area”

    The Race:
    Total of 4 miles: 3 1/4 miles on blacktop (including Detweiller hill) and the last 3/4 mile on turf

    Male: 18 & under, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55 & up

    Female: 18 & under, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55 & up

    Youth Fun Run:  For boys and girls 12 & under; starts at 12:45. This is a half-mile run in the lower park area and all participants receive a ribbon. Entry fee is only $2.

    $16 through November 15
    Late entry: $18 after Nov. 15
    $14 for IVS members through November 15
    $2 Youth Fun Run (no t-shirt)

    Pre-registration must be received in person or mail by Wednesday, November 15. You may bring in or mail entry to: Peoria Park District, c/o Turkey Trot, 1125 W. Lake Ave., Peoria, IL 61614.

    Race Day registration will be taken Sunday, November 19 between noon and 12:45 p.m. at the concession building adjacent to the parking lot at the lower entrance of the park.

    Ceremony immediately follows race. T-shirts for all entrants (except Youth Fun Run). Top two finishers in each division and top two men and women overall will win a certificate for a free turkey, compliments of Kroger (unless competing through IHSA) and a trophy. Third place finishers in each division will receive a trophy.
